Silicone Render
.jpeg)
Silicone render is the finishing element or the final coat of a thin coat render or external wall insulation system. This finishing coat is both textured and tinted to any colour, providing an almost endless combination of finishes.
The silicone render finish is also ‘cement free’, which makes it highly elastic – so no cracking.
The silicone technology significantly reduces the amount of water absorption on the render surface, whilst allowing water vapour to pass freely through the render, granting your property optimum breathability.
The water repellent surface ensures a freshly rendered and aesthetically pleasing appearance for a prolonged period. Additionally, the finish is drier, therefore more resistant to algae growth and easier for you to maintain.

External Wall Insulation

External wall insulation (EWI) is a method of enhancing the thermal performance of a building by applying insulation material to its external walls. This process involves affixing insulation boards to the exterior surface of the walls, followed by a protective rendering or cladding system. The primary goal is to reduce heat loss and improve energy efficiency, thereby lowering heating costs and creating a more comfortable indoor environment. EWI is particularly beneficial for older or poorly insulated structures, as it helps bridge the gap in thermal resistance. Additionally, this approach can enhance the overall aesthetic appearance of a building while contributing to sustainability by promoting energy conservation.
Monocouche

Unlike a traditional sand and cement render, monocouche is single-coat and through-coloured which means it doesn’t need to be painted.
On a formulation level, the type of cement used in monocouche renders allows for pigmentation to be added which is what gives it a through-coloured appearance and means there’s no need to paint it.
In French – where monocouche originates – it literally translates into English as ‘one coat’. Monocouche renders are applied in two passes, but these bond together to form one strong monolithic coat. It’s just the more modern advanced version of a traditional render.
Monocouche has many benefits, including:
-
Durable - Through-coloured render which is low maintenance, strong and long-lasting
-
Easy to apply - Can be applied by hand or pumped with a machine, saving time and effort
-
One coat application - Monocouche is a one coat render applied in two passes, finished to a thickness of 15-25mm
-
Different finishes - Can be scrape finished for a modern appearance or sprayed roughcast for a traditional look
